Green Locals Building
the Party from the Grassroots Up
Coming Soon, a linked Map to
help you find the Greens near you.
Counties * Campuses
Listed below
are links to Green Party organizing and activity in your community.
We have linked the counties with on-line activity. As we develop
this page, and with your help develop the Party it represents, you will
be able to follow the expanding number of links to Green Party organizing
near you.
You will find
links to four different levels of Green Party activism. Our page
on Organizing
a Local will tell you more about our Local Affiliation process, but
the short of it is this, we recognize four levels of local development:
1) Affiliated Counties (or Campuses), 2) Organizing Counties, 3) Counties
with Local Contacts and 4) Counties with no officially organized Green
activity.
- If your
County's listing below indicates no Green Party activity in your community,
don't despair. We know Greens in over one hundred counties already.
(Georgia has 159, total). And we're growing everday. We
are in more or less active communication with Greens in perhaps thirty
or forty counties so far. But this list reflects where folks are
already doing the work to help us build the capacity to hold primaries,
once we qualify.
- A Local
Contact has agreed to serve the building of a local until they or someone
else is willing to start organizing local meetings and seeking affiliation.
Our Affiliation Committee has agreed to recognize their official capacity
to serve the building of our Party in that way.
- An organizing
Local has begun that process and had its Petition to Convene granted
by the Affiliation Committee.
- An Affiliated
Local has held an Annual Meeting, at which it has elected local officers,
considered local input on the State Platform, considered fielding candidates
in races for public office and had there Application for Local Affiliation
accepted by either our State Council or by our Annual Convention.
Whether you live
in an organizing county or not, we can introduce you to the Greens in your
community. You would rarely need to travel more than a county or two's
distance.
County names
listed in italics have
an application for affiliation or a petition to convene or to serve as
a local contact pending before the Committee, or the Committee has granted
such a petition or application. County names listed in bold
have an affiliated local.
