Greetings!
By Rev. Zack Lyde,
Georgia Green Party Chair
On behalf of our state Council and the Greens who are building the Party
in their communities across the state, I want to thank you for seeking
out the Georgia Green Party. We hope you'll read about us, get to know
what we stand for and help us build a Party committed to creating a future
worthy of our children.
The Georgia Green Party uses both electoral politics and direct action to serve the
grassroots movement for alternatives to the violence, for ecological sustainability,
meaningful democracy and social justice on this planet in our lifetimes.
We're building local affiliates that recruit candidates, build a funding and volunteer
base for electoral efforts and educate their communities on Green alternatives to the crisis
we face. We seek consensus rather than passing down orders from the top. We're working to
get good people elected. We're building state-wide campaigns to change public policy.
I hope you will do more than just read about us. I look forward to hearing that you've
become a member, taken on one of the volunteer tasks listed in our Help Wanted page,
pledged your volunteer hours for the 2000 Election season and with your neighbors
joined us in the work of building the Georgia Green Party in your community.
We're building a value-based Party to lead Georgia to a just, prosperous and sustainable
future. Our children deserve no less. Please join us!
