Campaign 2000:
Green Party Election Results Lyde Represents The Green Party In South Georgia
Zack Lyde is the Green Party's candidate for State Representative in District #173,
which encompasses McIntosh and parts of Liberty and Glynn Counties. The Georgia Green
Party co-chair explained his enthusiasm for the Green Party. "We're building local
affiliates that recruit candidates, build a funding and volunteer base for electoral
efforts and educate their communities on Green alternatives to the crisis we face.
We seek consensus rather than passing down orders from the top. We're working to get
good people elected. We're building state-wide campaigns to change public policy," Lyde said.
Lyde's Concerns
Lyde pulls no punches
regarding the issues that got him involved. "The Georgia Green Party uses
both electoral politics and direct action to serve the grassroots movement
for alternatives to the violence, for ecological sustainability, meaningful
democracy and social justice on this planet in our lifetimes," he said.
